Five Signs That Your Real Estate Agent Is A Quack

Buying or selling a property has never been a straightforward exercise. One out of five people would tell you that they had a rough time dealing with their realtors. Don’t make the mistake of hiring an agent who will put you at a loss or sink all your finances. Here are signs that will alert you about a real estate agent who is not worth your time and penny.

1. Lack of communication

Communication goes a long way, and it’s vital in the office, market, bar, or any other place. Even apes have their form of communication, so why should you expect less from man? Communication doesn’t involve a client to be on the agent’s neck throughout just because the real estate company runs 24 hours a day and seven days a week. These people have their personal lives to live. They require to spend time with their families or go to bars and parties at the end of the day.

However, your real Estate Agent should always get back to you. They should give feedback on what they have found out, what might work for you, and plans of moving forward to breaking a deal. If they never say anything and wait for you to approach them first and remind them of their duties, that’s a tell-tale sign you need to drop them fast.

2. Unattentive/ poor listening skills

A promising sign that your agent is productive is when they are responsive and attentive to your concerns and details. It may be on the face-face conversations, through text messages, calls, or emails. Also, listening involves your realtors trying as much as possible to go with your terms. Everything they suggest should narrow down to what works for you and not for their bank account. If they aren’t doing this, dupe them right away.

3. Lack of experience

Experience matters in every expertise. You wouldn’t want to entrust somebody who is a few weeks or a few months old in their profession. It’s like you have a big case at hand, and you consult a fresh lawyer from school or even an intern in their career and expect you to win the case. It fails to make sense. The chances of you becoming an inmate in a maximum prison are that that’s where you are heading.

The bottom line is your agent needs to have experience in the buying and selling of properties. Aside from this, they should be good price negotiators. State a price and let them reveal the homes they bought or sold in that given price range.

4. First impression

The first impression will reveal a lot about the real estate agent you have picked. It will give you a thumbs up or thumbs down. If you have scheduled a meeting and appear late, confused, or unprepared,n be very careful. If you call them and fail to pick up their calls or press that red button, they don’t value their customer’s relationship. Trust your gut feeling and bid them goodbye before it’s too late.

5. They don’t have a license

A free advice anyone will give you is that watch out for frauds and scammers. Before working with anyone claiming to be a real estate agent, make sure you vet them. Conduct a thorough background check even with the party on the other end. Having a license doesn’t stop one from playing you as a fool. It could be that their licenses were revoked but still claim to be agents. After proving that they are what they claim, only then should you work with them.
